The weather was really nice yesterday. I worked (with Ronnie) on the roof of Steve's garage in the morning, between hanging laundry out to dry and taking care of the birds.
I then went (at 2:00) to get some lunch at the Down Home. I wanted chicken livers, but they didn't have any, so I had the meat loaf, prepared by Penny herself, and it was DELICIOUS!
I then went to the Goodwill. Renae wanted me to help her sort goods in the sorting room, so I did, and we had a pleasant visit while we worked, and we really WORKED!
She emptied many boxes, which I took to the ally to be broken down for re-cycling.
She's still worried about getting a house, but can't seem to find one.
When Renae left, I did, too. I then went down to the Family Dollar, even though I had run out of cash. I like to cut up with the girls, and I always help them stock shelves and hang things back on the racks that careless shoppers have knocked down. I also removed one of the floor mats in front of the front door, and cleaned the floor. It looks much better, but I could have done a much better job with cleanser and a scotch-rite pad. Family Dollar doesn't provide them with any cleaning supplies. I can't believe that.
There were hardly any customers, because of it being Wednesday night.
There were a lot of police cruisers in front of Jarnagin Ford, and they were putting a silver truck on a roll-back to haul it away. I called Barbara, but she didn't know anything about it, and couldn't get any useful information from the Sheriff's Department when she called them.
It's hard telling what's happening now.
I came home, but was too tired to unload much from the truck.
I had taken a down comforter to the laundry mat to wash while I had lunch, and I'll put it on the clothesline today to dry.
Mary Douglas is coming. She's having a real problem with hoarsness, and her doctor has told her to not talk. She does, anyway.
I saw Karen McNish at the Goodwill yesterday, and talked with her briefly. She's working for Chris Maness at Douglas Cherokee now. She took quite a cut in pay from her job at the road commissioner's office. She told me she had heard that the Bird's had burned their trailer for the insurance money, too.
Carsele is supposed to send me something in an e-mail, so I can get her address, but she still hasn't. She's such a sweet lady. She's also supposed to get her son's address in Iraq for me, so I can send him packages and such, but she hasn't done that, either. I'm going to have to get after her.
I'm writing this about yesterday because I was so tired last night. I was about to go to sleep while I was on the phone with Steve. I've got Ambien again, and it's so nice to get some rest at night.
I'm just taking a half tablet--to stretch them. I don't ever want to run out again.
I'm listening to Holinessmusiconline, and it's so lovely and comforting.
Betty Pike sends me updates and little jokes all the time on-line, and it's so nice to know that she still loves me. Talk about faith.......
Lynn is having a terrible time with frustration and depression, so I try to e-mail her every day..some little quip or joke. Sometimes a rambling monolouge of silly, blond humor. I hope it helps her moods.
It's hard to suffer like we do and remain graceful and pleasant. I found out that Elaine, one of the clerks at Family Dollar, has Fibro, too. I told her that she's in for a life-time of misery. She has two tenn daughters and a hulking, big son of 22. She alone supports them all.
She's found a house owned by Donald Nance that she's renting, and the rent is $100.00 less than what's she's been paying. There's a place for a wood stove, and I've told her she can send Chris (son) to our farm to cut all the firewood they can use, which would save considerably on their heat bill.
Thank God for Donald Nance.
I must get off this computer and get things out of the way so Mary can clean. I always enjoy our time together. She's such a good woman.
