I'm always tired, it seems, and tonight is no exception.
Mary (my housekeeper) was coming today, so I picked up things and got them out of the way for her this morning. She has some kind of upper respiratory infection that has paralized her vocal chords, and she can't talk. She can still whisper, though, and she did plenty of that today.
She usually stops at Hardee's in Rutledge and brings me a chicken buisquit, and she said she saw the Birds there. Angie spoke to her, but did not mention the warrent I had filed against them. She said Chad would not look at her or speak. Their mobile home burned yesterday.
We cleaned house until 3:00, having just a short break for lunch at The Down Home. After she left, I didn't even come back into the house, but went to clean the hatchery camper, as Richard Fain, a neighbor, wanted to bring some eggs for me to hatch for him. I worked out there until he came, and we set the eggs, then stood out on the driveway a few minutes and talked. It got really cold really fast, so we parted, and I came into the house to clean up for supper with Barbara at The Down Home...their Thursday night special, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and buiscuits with baked apples. So good, though I didn't have much apitite.
I went by the Family Dollar for a while afterwards, and talked with Joan for a while. She told me that she had talked with a fireman, and he told her the Bird's mobile home was pretty much a total loss. I told her it was probably intentionally set, because it would be cheaper for them to get the insurance money and buy a new trailer and put it somewhere else than to move this one.
They'll probably get away with it, too, and the local churches will give them more than they've ever had. They're such grifters.
Cooter Daniel was on a TV program tonight, Barbara had told me, so I tried to watch it. There were two homosexual men on the show that would have embarrassed the life out of a drag queen, so I turned it off. It's good to see Cooter getting some national recognition, though. I'll have to tease him about those guys, though.
Steve called and we talked for a while, and it's really cold there (in Ohio). I used some heat in the master bathroom last night, but it was just to keep from having to face a cold bathroom this morning. The bed has a heating pad which keeps me warm at night.
Richard commented this evening that my hatchery is really warm, but after I told him that I had insulated it, he wasn't surprised. I just don't like having to spend all my money on heating and cooling.
My sinuses are annoying me something terrible this evening. I'll be looking for medication in a while. My feet and legs hurt something awful, too, but I guess it's to be expected.
I talked with Shannon this evening, and she's looking forward to going to Tazewell this Saturday. She's planning to get a cedar bench from a roadside vendor up on Clinch Mountain, which she ordered last week.
It's pretty cold here tonight. I did several loads of laundry today, but had to hang them on drying racks in the bathroom because of the rain.
I painted on some crafts this evening. I'm working on a lovely ceramic hat, which Steve has asked me to do for him. He wants to give it to someone.
I didn't get to work on my hut any today.
My neck and shoulders are sore. I'm just tired.
Off to the bath and bed.
