This is actually Thursday Morning.
I was so tired and busy last night that I forgot/neglected to write in my journal.
I worked on my hut yesterday for most of the day. I went up to the 'Down Home' to eat a small lunch at 3:00, and chatted with Penny Satterfield, the owner, for a while about some of her renovations. She has the same problem with her renovations that I have with mine. She has to move something to be able to have the space to do something. It takes lots more time and effort.
I've been painting on my Christmas flags when I can, but it takes so long to do even a simple design. I paint one color on each side of a flag at a time, and it has to dry before I can do another color. I hang them with pincher hangers in the door of the laundry room to dry, and, when one color is dry, I start on another color, or work on another flag, intil I get back to the original one.
I make them much brighter and more colorful than the manufacturer,
I went to the funeral home last night for the viewing of Fain Wells.
Ruth looked lovely, as usual. There were lots of people there who wanted to talk to me that I knew the face, but didn't know who they were. So much of my memory is gone, I guess.
I was glad to see Sherry Snapp, The Edde's, Gregg and Missy Kitts, (former) Sheriff Bobby Whitt and his lovely wife, and Sonny Mullins and 'Sis' Bobby. They are the brother and sister of Jim Mullins, who was brutally murdered in his store in Knox County. There will never be justice served there.
Richard Fain called me last night wanting me to hatch some eggs for him, so that means that I will have to get the hatchery ready to go. It's a small camper that I renovated last year to hatch my eggs in, and I've neglected it all year this year, as I've not been hatching.
Bill Douglas called last night for Mary 0my houskeeper) to say that she can't talk, as one side of her throat is paralized, but she is coming to work today, anyway. He got laid off because of health reasons, so she has to work, wheather she feels like it or not. She's been so faithful all these many years.
I found out from James Barne's wife late yesterday that the Bird's' house burned. They are the couple who had worked for me for a while, then ruined the whole set-up by stealing a calf from me. She had recently been caught shop-lifting at the Family Dollar Store by Fern, the assistant manager, who then banned Angie from ever coming back into the store again.
I wouldn't be surprised to learn that their trailor was set on fire my them, because his dad is losing the family farm in a divorce, and now they won't have to foot the expense to move the trailor, just get another place.
I was so tired last night, Steve told me that 'The Curtains were coming down', which is an expression that we use to describe what happens when the meds kick in, and I go to sleep in just a couple of minutes. If I'm talking to him, it's like I just start slowing down really fast, and then, I'm asleep.
Mary Kelly, my oldest living sister, called last night, and we talked briefly. She won't stay on the phone for long. She's in despair that her vision is going, and her eye drops arn't helping her that much. I feel the same dread, as I can't see so well anymore. Glasses don't help. She can't afford her eye drops. I wish I could help her more.
It's a lot of work to keep everything going around here.
The Lord blessed me with a good night's rest and safety, and I thank Him for it.
I pray He will bless this day and keep me going.
